What is tougher than nails and tastes like old leather?
How many of you have found yourself tickling the back of your throat with your own foot?
I have twice this so far this week with this blog. Thank God it is Friday, though there’s plenty more opportunity to do it again (and again).
- Blog Rush
- Like everyone else I jumped right on the Blog Rush bandwagon and just like everyone else I was quickly disenfranchised when thinks didn’t go as smoothly as they could (should?) have gone. I honestly believed that John Reese had released it into Beta long before he should have. I still believe this, but what I didn’t account for was how quickly and how professionally he and his team would begin to address some of the issues that were plaguing Blog Rush. In addition to the changes I advised of yesterday it is also being released in multiple flavors (colors) in the near future and they have put forth a good deal of effort to clear up the mlm/pyramid scheme accusations some people are casting around.
I’m still a little dubious about how well this whole Blog Rush thing is going to work out, but I clearly judged it too quickly and too harshly.
Funny thing is that suddenly I’m starting to see a lot more useful posts from John Chow. Not just “this is how I get rich!”, but posts that are actually helpful and entertaining. The advise he gave on customizing and RSS feed for Blog Rush was timely, and informative. His report about Deal dot Come has inspired me to dust the link off and actually try to put it to use.
The moral of this is as timeless as any moral is. Don’t be so quick to judge any person, product, or blog. They just might surprise you.
By the way pride is tougher than nails and tastes like old leather.

Praise you for your ability to admit mistakes….I am more a fan of Darren than John, but I have noticed some useful things over at John Chow dot Com lately.
Jeremy - Thanks. I agree about being more a fan of Darren than John. I think it’s because Darren takes a lot of time to interact with his readers. John in general stays out of the discussion except maybe one or two responses here or there.
