TLA’s latest offering: Shopping Ads

As you browse around A Blog about Nothing you’ll no doubt start to notice some ads that say “Ads by ShoppingAds”. This is the latest offering from Patrick Gavin over at (Text Link Ads). There are a few things you should know about Shopping Ads.
- They are cost per click ads
- Just like Adsense and others you earn money for each valid ad click.
- Each ad unit has a built in affiliate code
- If you want to join Shopping Ads you either must click on an ad unit, or you can go directly to the site and signup there (this is not an affiliate link) when that option becomes available. Currently it is in private beta testing. At this time there is no way to promote the affiliate program seperate from the ad units. It pays 5% for the first 6 months. Pretty week payout, but better than nothing.
- 0.20 per click average
- According to the information I have Shopping Ads averagaes around 0.20 per click. Not too shabby
- Reports have a 2 to 3 day processing time
- Per the report generation tool this is to ensure quality and accuracy. Not something I’m too pleased with, but hopefully that will be straightened out soon than later.
- Minimum of $50.00 for a payout
- You won’t get paid until you generate at least $50.00 in revenue from clicks and affiliates.
Consider jumping on Shopping Ads now, before everyone else does and you’re trying to pick up scraps!

Seems great but can you choose categories … because a “T-speaker “ads (like yours) will have no real impact if I’m not speaking about speaker….
2 or 3 days report processing…ouffff .. … I don’t feel this one…The good news: this is not a widget like widgetbucks..( who is in trouble with Google I think since they don’t appear first with they own domain pouahahah )
20 cents………………………………….. mmm well 250 clicks to reach $50… still possible… ( if 20 cents it is not the roof……)
Blackysky – You can use keywords in the ad which is supposed to make it return stuff related to the keyword(s). For the ad on this page I used the keyword “email”, on another page I used “anti-virus”, on another I tried “operating systems” and all the ads seem to display speakers or something to do with audio equipment. So the moral of the story is, yes you can choose but it doesn’t appear to be working properly at this time.
I agree about the time for reporting. Hopefully it is just during the beta stages while they work things out. As far as the 0.20 remember that’s average so as they saying goes “your mileage will vary”, meaning your experience will vary.
