Interview: Bryan Clark of One Man’s Goal part 2
Today we are continuing on where we left off in part one of our interview with Bryan Clark.
- Question: Your earnings are impressive for such a young blog. In fact many “old” blogs never generate the revenue that you are. If you were given one opportunity to advise someone else on your most effective monetization tactic what would you tell them?
-
There is no magical tactic. It’s a combination of a lot of little things. If there was one magic button to push, we’d all be rich. It just doesn’t work that way. I’ll have an e-book coming out around month 3-4 detailing my first 3 months of blogging. It’ll teach all the methods I’ve used for early success.
Question to the reader: What methods have you used to be successful?
- Since the beginning you have been very open and honest about what your purpose is with this blog. How do people in general react to it, meaning aside from your fans and readers?
-
I get a lot of negativity, inside the blog-o-sphere and away from it. Most people you run into are simply there to discourage you from dreaming. Negativity does two things to people. For the successful it’s a motivating factor. For the average person, it just discourages them from following their dreams. People online have reacted well (although I get lots of hate mail and negative comments from some). But all-in-all the experience has been extremely positive so far.
Question to the reader: Do you get a lot of negativity about your blogging efforts? How do you deal with it?
- Question: Like anyone else your quality of post has increased as you’ve done this more and more. Where do you get the inspiration for your posts from?
Reading other blogs. I’ll find a topic and see if I can improve upon it. Most people try to put as much information into a post and keep it short enough so that they don’t have to write for an hour. Some of my posts take me an hour plus… so I really can go into detail about some commonly talked about things, that nobody wants to take the time to explain. The internet is full of resources, it’s just hard to find them all. It’s my goal to make this a bit easier on newer bloggers. The quality of my posts is increasing because my knowledge on the subjects is expanding as well.
Question to the reader: Where do you get your inspiration from to release new content day after day after day?
Stay tuned for the third and final part of the interview with Bryan Clark!

Everything I’ve read on Bryan sounds interesting, but I can’t see actually how he is making a living off the blog…is he talking about ad revenue, or paid ad links, or ??? A little bit of everything?
By A Blog about Nothing on Sep 11, 2007
I believe most of his revenue comes from paid advertising and affiliate programs, but you’d have to ask him that to be certain. Also I don’t think he’s making a living at it just yet.
