Increase your Blog Rush visitors

A few days ago I wrote an article saying that John Chow’s blog is overrated. I’m sticking to my guns on this because I believe it is overrated, but that’s not to say the man doesn’t give us useful information. One thing he suggested doing was creating a RSS Feed strictly for Blog Rush purposes. This is a great idea and I believe it goes hand in hand with something I’m testing out a little bit.

One of my biggest concerns about Blog Rush has been the lack of categories which we are expected to place our blogs in. According to a few things I’ve read there will be more categories introduced in the future. I certainly hope so as it would make things much better.

My suggestion to help increase click through rate is very simple. Use John Chow’s advice to setup your own special RSS Feed for the article you want to promote, and then make sure you are in the category relevant to that article. Simple right? Since Blog Rush only displays the current top article in your RSS feed having it’s own “special” feed to highlight the article of choice, even those that are older, and having yourself in the proper category based on the currently promoted article should help the CTR.

UPDATE: It seems that Blog Rush has disabled the ability to edit the feed link in the existing account. Can still edit the url of the blog, but not the RSS url. Hopefully this will be rectified quickly. But even if you can’t customize an RSS feed you can still do some category hopping.

Don't forget to subscribe to A Blog about Nothing's RSS feed!
