DealDotCom : Taking another look

Deal Dot Com logo
If you’ve spent any time look at this blog in the recent past you’ll probably notice a few changes. I got rid of some buttons and links that weren’t doing me any good and I brought back one of my best money makers of 2007. That being DealDotCom. I had removed it in the not so distant past due to not being able to easily accomodate the graphic on my sidebar. Since that time I’ve done some major reorganizing and decided it was time to bring DDC back on board for another go.

My reason for bringing them back is all about dollars and cents. I checked my stats and realized even without any promotion they are still making me money. In fact it’s been over two months since I have even mentioned them on the site and my affiliates (bees) number a grand total of 2. And with 2 “bees” and no advertising or promotion on my part for two months I’ve made close to $75 from DDC. Seems like a no brainer to me. But that’s enough about me. Let’s talk about you. More to the point let’s talk about making you some money using DDC.

How does DealDotCom work?
DDC has copied the largely successful Woot! formula to carve out a unique niche for themselves among internet marketers and bloggers. The formula is simple for 24 hours DDC offers one and only one item for sale. By signing up for DDC you offer advertise that item for them via your site by placing a link/graphic/whatever on your site leading back to the whatever is being offered that day. If someone buys it you get paid. If someone buys and signs up you get paid and get an affiliate. If someone just signs up you get an affiliate, but no pay. Finally if someone does neither you get nothing.

How do I get paid?
Each time someone purchase something from your DDC link you are paid a commission of 35 percent. Not to shabby, huh? But there’s more. If someone buys from one of your affiliates you get 15% and get ready for this. Your affiliate commissions are for a lifetime. Instead of 12 months like most places use DDC gives you a lifetime. In other words anytime some buys from your affiliates at any point in your life you’ll earn 15%.

What’s with the “bees”?
Queen bees and worker bees are what DDC has chosen to call the downline affiliates from the main account. If you sign-up via my link you’ll become a “queen bee” (direct downline affiliate) on the other hand if you sign-up using the affiliate link at another site and that person happened to sign-up via my link (thus becoming a queen bee) you’d become their queen bee and my worker bee. Make sense?

How does it compare to other monetization methods?
For me it’s been great when tested against other monetization methods, but in order to maximize your monetization campaign all things must work in harmony with one another. And DDC does just that. My main source of income on this blog has been Google Adsense, which thanks to everyone who clicks on the ads displayed on this blog has done better than I expected it would do. DDC has done second best after Google Adsense. Now Google adsense has been on each and every page (except the front page) almost without ceasing since I opened the blog back in July. DDC hasn’t, but if the DDC earnings jump as I expect they will now that I’m promoting it I expect it will quickly dwarf Ad Sense in terms of earnings.

Keep in mind this is due to the amount of visitors I get on a daily basis. A Blog about Nothing is a relatively small blog so my traffic numbers aren’t huge. It only takes one or two buys to make me a lot of money via DDC but takes many, many clicks to make that same kind of money via Ad Sense and other pay-per-click advertisements. As my traffic continues to increase my Ad Sense clicks will continue to grow and very likely my DDC clicks will grow as well.

How many people click on your DDC links per day?
I don’t know that. I just started tracking my DDC stats using the advice I found on the DDC blog about doing so. Since I began using the tracking, literally 20 minutes ago I’ve had 3 clicks one of which was my own to test it. Don’t worry, I’m not cheating the system by clicking on the links. It’s not PPC I’m not getting any money by doing so.

So there you have it, welcome back DealDotCom I look forward to a lucrative relationship. And so long Sphinn, My Blog Log, Blog of the Week, and Blogging Zoom. All of which served their purpose but ultimately had to go.

I’d like to remind everyone to please sign up for my email rss feed. Once I reach 500 subscriptions I will randomly choose a member of the 500 signups and send that person $50.00! Tell your friends, tell your family, tell everyone about their chance to win $50.00! Hell, you don’t even need to link back to an article, or write an article. Just need to be one of the 500 subscribers. Contest will run until there is a winner. So tell everyone because until we reach 500 subscribers no one has any chance to get that $50.00!
