Blog Rush has worn out its welcome (again)

** This is a repost, originally this article was posted on October 22nd but I took it down due to the approaching release of Blog Rush 2.0 I should have left it up and removed the Blog Rush code at that time. Obviously I’ve removed it since and am reposting this article. For those of you wondering about Blog Rush 2.0 let’s just say it’s like a ditzy blonde. Looks pretty, but is really pretty useless.**

I had high hopes for Blog Rush not to long ago. Even after several setbacks I kept them on my blog to see how things might work out. Unfortunately John Reese hasn’t really ever gotten this project off the ground. I believe there are several reasons for this, but ultimately the reasons don’t matter to anyone but John who I doubt is very pleased with his peformance regarding Blog Rush.

What performance?
I have no idea and that’s part of the problem. Enhanced performance stats have been “rolling out” for what, three weeks now? Enough is enough, shit or get off the pot as the old saying goes.

Don’t you know how hard John is working on it?
Nope, I don’t. What I do know is that whether he and his team are working 20 hours a day or 20 minutes a day the result for their efforts is the same. Nothing.

Maybe you haven’t given it enough time?
I had it on here within 24 hours of the program becoming active. It’s been on full time since then. Hardly seems like I need to give it more time to make a decision

I bet you’re getting some visitors from Blog Rush
Yes I have gotten some vistors via Blog Rush. 44 (or 46 depending on what stats you’re looking at) total since the day it was installed on the site. That doesn’t even average out to one visitor per day.

Ultimately I find it is time to move on because things have simply been moving along too slow with it. Hopefully John Reese will get things worked out in the future and things will work out as “promised”.

Edit: Just after I posted this article I got a congratulations article telling me that my blog has passed the quality control guidelines and would be included in the Blog Rush network. Unfortunately Blog Rush hasn’t passed the quality control guidelines to appear on my blog. Maybe they’ll get it straightened out and I’ll try it again in the next few weeks. In the meantime I’ll use the real estate it now affords me to generate some more income with the traffic I already get.

I’m wondering if anyone has some benefit from BR. From what I’ve read, BR brings a very few amount of traffic, even if the blogs involved has many visitors. It seems that this kind of widgets doesn’t fulfill our expectations.

Diana - I’m sure there are people who have benefited from it. I wasn’t one of them so I got rid of it.

I had it on 3-4 blogs, and got maybe 1 hit per week from it. “It works” for them, because they own the majority of the blogs on the system, I’m sure… At any rate, even though they said that the numbers work out, they really don’t. It’s just another MLM to make the people at the top rich (with traffic), and the peons at the bottom get nothing…

I tried Criteo, and that seemed to get some traffic, but still not enough that it made sense.

    Hi Brook,
Thanks for dropping by my blog and leaving a comment. I discovered Blogging Zoom two days ago. I am amazed with it. It is far better than BlogRush. It is a social bookmarking site like Digg, Plugim, and many more. It was launched in Public Beta on 1st of November, 2007. What makes Blogging Zoom so special is that after you submit your blog entries, you are promised to get better search engine placement.

I have been using it since Friday, and so far get 25 unique visitors, which is fine when compared to BlogRush. Plus they are working on search engine placement of my submissions. If you are interested, please read my blog post :
