Blog Rush updates
A Blog about Nothing - Blog Rush updates

John Reese creator of Blog Rush has released an update about the program. The highlights are as follows. It’s great to see that action is being taken though it would have been better had they taken it before and not after.

Manual review process
It seems the amount of spam and other trash has forced the Blog Rush administration to go to a strictly manual review. That is great news as it will help to ensure relevance.

Additional security measures
Better security is being implemented by the team in an effort to curb the number of cheaters which have apparently flooded the network. This is great news as well.

I’ve been fairly critical of Blog Rush over the past few days, but if they will keep this kind of work up I’ll be the first one to say I was wrong. At this point I’m still critical of the traffic potential because I’m not seeing much potential (7,106 impressions and 5 clicks) in it. I hope I can also say I was wrong about that as well, but we will have to wait and see.

I’m hanging in with it so far. I set my filters so I haven’t seen any nasties, but of course who’s to say for sure. I did see my feed posted on it a couple times and that was kind of cool. As you say, not seeing much traffic yet but…

Vienne - I haven’t even bothered with the filters yet. I’ve not come across anything to horrible at this point though I’ll happily add in what I need to add in should I come across it.

    Kamal - Good luck!

Strange how everyone is complaining about the result on BlogRush because I had good result… More than 20 clicks so far :-)

Maybe I am just lucky =)

Sean - That’s great! But my question is out of how many impressions? What was your bounce rate? How long did the traffic stick around? Did they visit any other part of your blog?

I found that in addition to the really tiny CTR my traffic was leaving within about 20 seconds of arriving.

I don’t trust BlogRush at all. I think it’s incredibly overrated and your stories will have no visibility.

Did you see Darren’s post on ProBlogger? The CTR was miserable.

I came here via StumbleUpon, not via BlogRush. Leverage what works, not what doesn’t. :)

Tamar - I agree with it being overrated and lack of visibility. Yes I saw Darren’s post that’s what initially got me concerned as I thought I’m a tiny little blog with virtually no readers of course I won’t get clicks. When I saw he had like 35 clicks out of around 70,000 impressions something clicked in my head.

Great advise to leverage what works. I’m still giving Blog Rush a few weeks just to see what happens, but even with a lot of work I fear it’s going to be a flop. Either that or my expectations for it are completely out of whack?
