Promoting your blog on Blog Catalog
Blog Catalog members make heavy use of the sites forums features often trading their blog links, reviewing one another, commenting on each others blogs, and just generally having good all around discussions. As you might suspect the membership runs across the entire spectrum personality wise.
In addition to the forums each blog is also given the ability to develop a “community” of friends and fellow bloggers. I’ve found this to be a great way to promote your blog as my Blog Catalog community continually sends me traffic on a fairly regular basis.
Some tips to make your Blog Catalog experience enjoyable:
- Participate in the forums
- Spend some time developing a nice profile for your community
- Interact using the shoutbox in your community
- Join other bloggers communities
- Join some groups and participate in them
I invite you to join my Blog Catalog community and begin enjoying the benefits of the site if you haven’t done so already! If you’re already a member of Blog Catalog I still invite you to join my community.

Nice new theme there! I use blog catalog and is pretty good. You should install your blog catalog widget into your sidebar to promote and to check out the people who visited your site.
David – Thank you! I think it’s much cleaner and crisper. I have the widget installed on my widget page. For two reasons. First it clutters the side bar, but beyond that it also has a tendency to slow the page loads way down.
Do you have number? (a post suggestion) How much traffic among your entire traffic, blog catalog really brings you. Do the time you spend out there worth something at the end.
Blackysky – My primary focus with Blog Catalog isn’t traffic generation. It’s building name recognition among the blogging community. I believe in the long run that will be the ticket to success and not how much traffic I generate from Blog Catalog readers.
