About me
All about A Blog about Nothing
Hello thanks for taking an interest in learning about the “power” behind the blog. My name is Brook Durant and I’m a recovering… uh, nevermind. Seriously though I’m 33 years old and live North of Boston Ma currently. Since everyone asks how I got my name I’ll make it easy on you. From my father, after a fish. Yes, I am serious.
Who am I, really?
Before anything else I’m a Christian. That comes first in my life. That wasn’t always the case. I’ve been involved to one degree or another with quite a few religions, but eventually I decided I wanted a relationship with God. I found that in Christ.
Beyond that I’m a newcomer to the blogging scene at this point. I’m still working to “find” my voice within the community. I have moderate ADHD (among other things) so blogging in a niche isn’t something I am capable of doing. My mind bounces from topic to topic and as you read my posts you’ll find the same thing happens here as well. That’s why I like to classify myself as a nicheless blogger. I’ve read that there is no such thing but I disagree. There certainly is, and I’m one of them.
On a more personal note I’m from Oregon, residing on the North shore of Massachusetts for the time being. Beyond that you’d have to contact me with your question(s).
What is my blog about?
That is both an easy and a difficult question to tackle. I named this A Blog about Nothing because that was the antithesis of what I wanted it to become. That is, “A Blog about Everything”.
As for actual content I will blog about anything that I personally find interesting. Computers, politics, religion, space, war, cooking. You name it and I’ll take a shot at it. There are things I won’t touch, but not to many.
Why should I keep reading your blog?
If you find it interesting or informative keep reading it because I assure you that at some point you’ll come across something that does nothing for you. If you find it controversial and disagreeable keep reading it because I assure you as well that at some point you will agree with me on something.
If you want a more serious reason for continuing to read this blog do so because you enjoy it, and have something to contribute to it in one form or another. If that is sending me personal emails, great. If it is leaving comments, great. If something prompts you to refer a friend to this blog so much the better.
Mostly though read this blog because it is worthy of your attention. If it isn’t I’d love to hear why, but if you can’t be bothered with that I’ll notice the drop in the numbers of readers. I won’t know who left and why, but I’ll know that it happened. Not that you folks are just numbers to me, but unless you do let me know when and why I can only rely on the numbers.
There you go a little bit about me. If you have any questions please feel free to ask. I don’t bite, promise.
